昨年8月に特集記事を書いたのはサイエンスでしたが、今度はネイチャーがあの事件に関する記事を掲載しました。

史上最悪の一つと言われるあの事件とは、STAP細胞事件ではありません。
弘前大学の教授だったS氏(故人)の骨粗鬆症に関する研究です。診療ガイドラインに採用されるなど、その影響はSTAP細胞事件どころではありません。
今回の記事では、弘前大学などの調査の不備を指摘しています。
「university investigations into research misconduct are often inadequate, opaque and poorly conducted.」
問題を指摘されたのは日本の大学だけではないのですが、日本の大学の問題を厳しく指摘しています。
この記事にはありませんが、東北大、岡山大など、研究不正の疑義を指摘した研究者が処分されたり、東京大のように、医学部の研究者の研究不正の指摘が不自然なシロ判定になるなど、日本の大学、研究機関の体制に問題があることはかねてから言われてきました。
サイエンスにネイチャーと、世界からの厳しい指摘に、日本の科学コミュニティ、学術行政はどう向き合うのでしょうか。
研究倫理教育の強化だけではとても対処できているとは言えません。

遅きに失したと言う声はありますが、やっていかなければなりません。
