1）博士課程修了者のキャリア選択について、指導教員の指導頻度が高いことが、学位取得率、研究と仕事の関連度を高める、2）所属大学のその他の教員の指導頻度が、論文や賃金のパフォーマンスを高める、3）所属大学以外の教員の指導が学位取得率やアカデミック・キャリアの選択率を高める、4）教員でない者（先輩・ポスドク等）の指導頻度がアカデミック以外のキャリア選択率を高める、等が明らかになった。
